Glass Piece Light Display

A display that I am particularly fond of is this light-up display I designed. Students in the design department make glass pieces every year in one of their classes, and I wanted to be able to show the new pieces off in a unique and creative way for this show.

The first thing I had to do was clean off the space the display needed to go, which was on top of an old CNC machine that had become storage for various projects throughout the school year. I then had to develop a way to display all of the glass pieces with light, without the light being the focus of the display itself. I created these hollow hexagonal bases with acrylic tops that would allow the light to shine up through the glass pieces. I synced up all of the display boxes so I could control them all with one command, and I also added some lighting from the top frame to really draw the focus to the glass pieces.
