Personas & Moodboards

During the early research phase for my senior capstone project, I had a lot of information that I had collected about my target audience. However, none of it was categorized or sorted in a useful way, so I created these 4 false personas as a way to group the information together. I then came up with an overarching theme that I could use on all of my research documents for the rest of the project. This theme used colors in a rainbow pattern to sort the information I had collected. Further down this page, you’ll find some moodboards, which served as the gathering point for image collection and ideas to be experimented with for the overall project.

Moodboards are a designer’s best friend at the beginning of a project. They’re where we can store all the important visual information regarding inspiration for a project. Moodboards are also very useful for polling clients on a project. Instead of going through a slide show and having the client tell me what they liked or did not like, I was able to print these out and have the them mark what they liked, which allowed me to focus on the important parts of the project and easily throw away all the stuff that was deemed unnecessary.
